This Privacy Policy explains how The Brilliant Institute (“we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit thebrilliantinstitute.org (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect only the information you choose to give us and limited technical information needed to run the Site:
- Contact and inquiry forms. When you send us a message, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, the topic of your inquiry and your message.
- Bookstore orders and accounts. If you order curriculum materials or create an account, we collect the information needed to process and deliver your order, such as your name, email, billing and shipping address, phone number and order history. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on our servers.
- Contributions. If you make or pledge a contribution, we collect the information needed to process and acknowledge your gift.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and our security and content-delivery provider automatically log basic information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the date and time of your visit.
How we use your information
- To respond to your questions about admissions, our schools, athletics, the Bookstore, careers or giving.
- To process, ship and support Bookstore orders and to manage your account.
- To process and acknowledge contributions.
- To send you news about the Institute if you ask to receive it. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, such as cookies that keep your shopping cart, keep you logged in and protect the Site from malicious traffic. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking for advertising. You can set your browser to block or delete cookies, but parts of the Site, such as the cart and checkout, may not work without them.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site and our programs, and only as needed for them to do that work. These include our web host, Cloudflare (which provides security and content delivery for the Site), email delivery services and, for purchases or gifts, our payment processor and shipping carriers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a reorganization of the Institute.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for parents, guardians, educators and supporters. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information through the Site, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure.
Your choices
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you communications, by contacting us as described below. If you have an account, you can also update your details from your account page.

The Site links to other websites, such as Animated Euclid. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
